Prologue
A make-up game after having to cancel a few weeks ago due to sick kiddos, I got to do another sortie against Brain. I created two lists way back then, one First Order and one Resistance, both using a lot of things I've never used or tried before. Though, shortly before our original game, the new XWA beta updates game out and completely scrambled the two lists I made.

Remaking a list last minute, I decided to try something new and quickly build a First Order list without a single Pattern Analyzer in it. I substituted for Advanced Optics and used a couple pilots I've never flown before or typically don't fly (Tie/SF Quickdraw, Tie/FO Longshot and Lt Rivas, and Xi Shuttle Agent Tierny).

Brian brought his first Resistance List with a 7 point Poe-verdrive build. He was really worried about the possible mission choice. If Salvage was drawn, he was worried it would ruin a lot of the repositioning built into his list. Then Salvage was drawn.
Round 1

Not fully understanding how the Salvage mission worked, I slow rolled turn one expecting to grab the two objectives on my side of the board. I knew you didn't score them until turn 2, but I didn't know you can't even pick them up until turn 2! This put me out of position to try and grab points, expecting Brian to ignore most of the objectives and tackle ship kills. It now meant that if I wanted to try to grab objectives turn 2, I would be in a poor spot to defend any incoming shots.
Score: 🟥0 - 🟦0

Round 2

Turn 2 could have gone a lot better if the green dice would have rolled anything but blanks. Lt Rivas takes a heavy blow when a focused 5 green dice evade roll came up with 5 blank dice. Longshot goes down after blanking out on two swings from Poe and the A-Wing. Malarus also takes huge damage from the other A-Wing when her ability doesn't gain her anything.
Score: 🟥1 - 🟦3

Round 3

Malarus's ability, triggered again to give her some defenses, again yields no results and Malarus drops before she can even shoot with a decently lined up trick shot on Nien Nubb.
Score: 🟥2 - 🟦9

Round 4

With the rest of the FO out of position, it's clean up time for the Resistance.
Score: 🟥3 - 🟦10

Round 5

Score: 🟥4 - 🟦14

Round 6

Score: 🟥4 - 🟦15

Round 7

Score: 🟥4 - 🟦22
