Not much prologue or build up to this game. I've been looking at trying out the Librarius Conclave detachment that dropped as part of the Warhammer Community's 2024 Grotmas. I had a few Libarian models for the Hearth Guard Space Marines, so I took a total of 4 Librarians to power the detachment rules. A Terminator Librarian paired with a traditional 5 man squad, Phobos Librarian paired with eliminators, and a pair of generic Librarians paired with a Sternguard and Assault Intercessor Squad.
Round 1
Space Marines take the initiative and start off by making some risky plays Round 1. Moving fast to get on to the No-Mans Land objectives to score some early secondary points. The Grey Knights then takea move forward to punish these risky plays. The assault intercessors and infernus marines both take heavy casualties.
Score: π₯5 - π¦0
Round 2
The Space Marines try to make Round 2 all about punishing those Grey Knight units who came out to knock off my objective squatters. They do an OK job knocking out a Grand Master NemDread, but not enough to sandbag the flood of 2+ save bodies that were about to flood forward. The Eliminators and Sternguard KO the Razorback that is squatting on the middle objective while the GK Landraider dishes out pain to the Ballistus Dreadnought. With the most potent anti-tank piece I had removed, I needed to determine how I was going to deal with that Landraider now. The Space Marines were doing OK on scoring points, but there wasn't going to be much left of them at this point.
Round 3
Bad secondary pulls for the Space Marines this turn mean I only score 5 points on Primary while the GK score a whopping 12 total. Not only do the Grey Knights score big points, they also do a large amount of damage to what is remaining to the Marines. One Redemptor drops some Grey Knight librarians and strikes, but the other Redemptor blow up.
Round 4
We talked out Round 4 and were happily convinced that the Space Marines would be tabled by the end of the turn. Meaning that after the Grey Knights score 10 points on primary objectives, there would be nothing left for the Space Marines to grab anymore points. Victory to the Grey Knights!
Score: π₯27 - π¦37+
